Joint AFAN and WSA Annual Stakeholders Meeting Set for November 20

Lincoln, NE (11/6/17)—The Alliance for the Future of Agriculture in Nebraska (AFAN) and We Support Agriculture (WSA) have scheduled their joint 2017 annual stakeholders meeting for Monday, November 20 at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in downtown Lincoln.

 

All AFAN and WSA partners and stakeholders are invited to the meeting, which begins at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and conversation, followed by the meeting at 9:00 a.m. A buffet luncheon, sponsored by the Nebraska Soybean Board, will follow the meeting.

 

Meeting highlights will include a year-end report by Kristen Hassebrook, Executive Director of AFAN and WSA. The report will communicate the year’s accomplishments and provide a look into future opportunities for both organizations

 

The meeting will launch a new Producer Empowerment Initiative, which will provide producers with the knowledge and the tools to work through the process of starting or expanding a livestock operation.  This will be presented by Spencer Hartman, Livestock Development Workshop Facilitator.

 

Featured speakers will include Governor Pete Ricketts, and Craig Utter and Homer Buell with the Sand County Foundation, who will announce the Nebraska Leopold Conservation Award.
